Job Description

A rural combined school in Sandton needs a teacher who can hold a class and lift the marks. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Location: Sandton, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

What you'll actually do

Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
Teach your allocated classes and keep the pace of the ATP
Capture marks on SA-SAMS or the school's reporting platform before deadlines
Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
Keep learner profiles and a tidy teacher file for subject advisers

Must-haves

Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control

Extra points for

Experience with remedial or inclusive education
Comfortable with Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams for homework
