Plant Operator (Concentrator) – Fixed-Term

The iron ore beneficiation plant near Coega needs operators who can run their area safely on a 24-hour shift cycle. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Location: Coega, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

• Call maintenance for bearing noise, belt damage or leaks
• Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
• Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report
• Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
• Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
• Watch mill loads, cell levels and densities on the SCADA screens

• Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
• Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
• At least 1 year operating a processing plant
• MQA minerals processing certificate at NQF 2 or higher
• Basic computer skills for SCADA screens and logs
• Willing to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Forklift or overhead crane licence
• Laboratory or sampling experience
• Control room experience
