Plasterer (Internal and External Walls)

You'll build it with your hands: walls, floors, roofs and finishes on the residential renovation company in Epping. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Epping, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs
• Tile floors, showers and splashbacks, including cutting around fittings
• Lay paving on a compacted, levelled bedding sand layer
• Carry bricks and materials to the workface and keep the scaffold clear
• Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
• Lay face brick and plaster brick to line, level and plumb

• Physically strong enough for a full day of lifting and bending outside
• Punctual every morning, even in winter
• Understands basic site safety like scaffolds and open trenches
• Safety boots of your own for the first week, if possible

• CETA or NQF 2 or 3 certificate in your trade
• Experience on NHBRC-registered housing projects
• Your own trowels, levels and tile cutter

• Transport from a pick-up point to site
• UIF and COIDA registration from day one
• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest

• Bring photos of your work on your phone. A foreman believes a straight wall more than a long CV.
• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
