Playgroup Facilitator (Mornings) – Immediate Start

Parents at this workplace day care centre in Prospecton trust you with their children every morning. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Prospecton, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went
• Prepare simple, nutritious snacks and keep the kitchen hygienic
• Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
• Clean and sanitise toys, mats and tables at the end of the day
• Plan themes and holiday programmes with the principal
• Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
• Set up daily learning areas for art, blocks, reading and fantasy play

• Warm, patient and energetic with small children
• Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
• Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
• ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
• Matric
• Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance

• Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
• Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
• Experience with children with special needs

• Short holiday closures over December and Easter
• Sponsored ECD Level 5 studies
• Lunch provided on school days
• Reduced fees for your own child
