Job Description

Plumbing work that keeps Mbombela homes and buildings running: this private hospital maintenance department needs a trade-tested plumber. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a private hospital maintenance department on the Mbombela side of Mpumalanga. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations
Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings
Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P

What you need

Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
