Plumber for Geyser Installations – Immediate Start

This private hospital maintenance department in Harrismith needs a plumber who arrives on time, fixes it properly and leaves the site clean. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a private hospital maintenance department on the Harrismith side of Free State. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Install and repair soil and waste pipes to SANS 10400 Part P
• Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
• Issue plumbing Certificates of Compliance for completed installations
• Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
• Work on the emergency call-out roster for after-hours bursts
• Order fittings from the supplier and keep the van stocked
• Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings

• Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
• Able to talk politely to home owners about damage and costs
• PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
• Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
• Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
• At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements

• Experience with insurance repair work and claim paperwork
• Heat pump and solar geyser installation experience
• SAQCC Gas registration for LPG installations

• Paid PIRB renewal fee
• Fully stocked service van with a fuel card
• Protective clothing and safety boots replaced yearly
• Call-out bonus for every after-hours job you complete

• Do not list every plumbing task you have ever done. Focus on geysers, drainage and CoCs, which is what these jobs pay for.
