Job Description

Every wall and slab on this road rehabilitation project in East London needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Home base is a road rehabilitation project on the East London side of Eastern Cape.

What you'll actually do

Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Clear rubble and load it into skips
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer

You'll need

Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE
Willing to start early, often at 06:30
Grade 8 or higher
