Primary Health Care Nurse (PHC Clinic)

Patients in this private hospital surgical ward in Vereeniging count on your clinical judgement every single shift. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Vereeniging-based, with most of your time spent at a private hospital surgical ward. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Supervise enrolled nurses and nursing assistants on your side of the ward
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls
• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients
• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly

• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Experience with electronic patient records or bedside charting systems
• Dispensing licence (Section 22A(15)) for clinic posts

• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Study support for post-basic specialities
• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training

• List your speciality skills in plain words, such as "ventilated patients" or "normal deliveries", instead of just the ward name.
• For night-duty posts, say clearly in your cover note that you want permanent nights, as many applicants only want days.
