Job Description

You'll run the crushers, mills and cells that turn ore into product at the chrome recovery plant near Kempton Park. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Kempton Park, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

What you'll actually do

Clear blocked chutes safely under isolation
Clean spillage and keep walkways free of hazards
Start up, run and shut down crushers, screens and conveyors in sequence
Check pumps, cyclones and thickeners on the plant walk
Hand over the plant to the next shift with a clear status report

What you need

Comfortable around noise, dust and heights while wearing full PPE
At least 1 year operating a processing plant
Certificate of fitness from the mine medical station
Grade 12 with mathematics and physical science

Helpful, not essential

Forklift or overhead crane licence
N4 to N6 or a diploma in Extraction Metallurgy
Control room experience
