Job Description

Machines set the pace at this furniture assembly factory in White River; you keep up and catch the faults. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in White River; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

Must-haves

No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
You follow hygiene rules without being reminded

Helpful, not essential

NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
Some basic first-aid training

On offer

Path to machine operator after six months
Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
Company transport on some night shifts
