Professional Nurse (Medical Ward)

Bring your SANC registration and your ward experience to a private hospital surgical ward in Pretoria East that needs a steady pair of hands. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a private hospital surgical ward on the Pretoria East side of Gauteng. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Keep clinical notes clear, timed and signed for audits and legal records
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls
• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients

• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Clean criminal record
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Valid BLS certificate; ACLS or PALS for ICU and emergency posts
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid

• Post-basic qualification in critical care, theatre or advanced midwifery
• Unit manager or shift leader experience

• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay
• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
