Professional Nurse (Medical Ward)

This post is Worcester-based, with most of your time spent at a community day clinic. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Keep clinical notes clear, timed and signed for audits and legal records
• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly

• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• Clean criminal record
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays

• Unit manager or shift leader experience
• Experience with electronic patient records or bedside charting systems
• Dispensing licence (Section 22A(15)) for clinic posts

• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay
• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation

• For night-duty posts, say clearly in your cover note that you want permanent nights, as many applicants only want days.
