Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

The shopping centre in Brakpan needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

Home base is a shopping centre on the Brakpan side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used

• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
