Job Description

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The retirement village in Komani has a list waiting for you. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a retirement village on the Komani side of Eastern Cape. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats

Must-haves

Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
Available for the occasional weekend emergency
Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills

Helpful, not essential

Basic first aid certificate
Gate motor and intercom repair skills
Experience with a work order system on a phone app
