Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the retirement village in Prospecton. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll be based at a retirement village in Prospecton. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants

• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• On-site accommodation at some estates

• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
• Write your CV as a skills list first: painting, tiling, plumbing, gate motors, pools. Managers scan for the skills their site needs.
