Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio) – Experienced

The retirement village in Vanderbijlpark needs a reliable all-rounder to keep the buildings safe and looking good. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Hang doors, fit locks and adjust sliding door rails
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs
• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests

• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• On-site accommodation at some estates
