Property Maintenance Handyman (Rental Portfolio)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the city hotel in Vereeniging. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

You'll be based at a city hotel in Vereeniging. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Replace tap washers, cisterns, shower heads and toilet seats
• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used
• Get quotes from outside contractors and let them in for bigger jobs

• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must

• Basic first aid certificate
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app
• Gate motor and intercom repair skills

• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
