Public Area Cleaner (Hotel)

You'll turn rooms around at a boutique guesthouse in Lephalale so every guest walks into a room that feels new. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

Home base is a boutique guesthouse on the Lephalale side of Limpopo. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Keep your trolley stocked and neat before each shift
• Log lost property with the guest's room number and date
• Report maintenance faults like dripping taps or broken lights
• Do evening turndowns, closing curtains and setting out slippers
• Strip and make beds to the hotel's standard, hospital corners included
• Clean lobby, lifts and public toilets through the day
• Load, wash, dry and press linen in the hotel laundry

• Well groomed
• Available on weekends, holidays and in peak season
• Quick and thorough, with a target of about 14 to 16 rooms a shift
• Grade 10 or matric

• A hospitality short course or NQF Level 2 accommodation services certificate
• Previous hotel or guesthouse housekeeping experience

• Uniform supplied and laundered
• Meals on duty from the staff kitchen
• Share of the service charge or guest tips
• Staff accommodation at remote lodges

• Mention seasonal availability for December and Easter. Coastal and lodge properties hire heavily before those peaks.
