Job Description

The food processing plant in Ermelo needs a qualified electrician who can work neatly and sign off safe installations. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a food processing plant in Ermelo. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations

Must-haves

Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
Your own basic hand tools and a calibrated multimeter
Solid working knowledge of SANS 10142-1 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
Valid Code 08 driver's licence

Helpful, not essential

Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs

What you get
