Qualified Motor Mechanic (Passenger Vehicle Dealership)

This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Alberton needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Alberton. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign

• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks

• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration

• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Tool allowance or tool insurance

• Do not leave gaps unexplained. Say if you were working for yourself or doing mobile repairs.
• If you hit or beat your sold-hour target, say by how much. Workshop managers love that number.
