Qualified Motor Mechanic (Passenger Vehicle Dealership)

This independent service workshop in Fourways needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

Location: Fourways, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign

• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars

• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training

• Tool allowance or tool insurance
• Manufacturer training courses paid by the dealer
• Staff discount on parts and services
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
