Qualified Motor Mechanic (Passenger Vehicle Dealership)

You'll service, diagnose and repair cars in a busy franchised passenger vehicle dealership in Tzaneen. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

The site is in Tzaneen; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Keep your bay, tools and special service tools clean and counted
• Quote extra work you find and pass it to the service advisor for approval
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign

• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Your own basic toolbox
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4

• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration
• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
