Job Description

You'll sort out burst geysers, leaks and blockages for the private hospital maintenance department in Mamelodi. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll be based at a private hospital maintenance department in Mamelodi. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

What you'll actually do

Install copper, PEX and PVC piping for new bathrooms and kitchens
Take photos and complete the insurer's claim report after each geyser job
Service booster pumps, pressure tanks and water storage tanks
Replace burst geysers and fit vacuum breakers, drip trays and pressure control valves to SANS 10254
Trace hidden leaks using pressure tests and moisture readings

What you need

Code 08 licence and a clean driving record
PIRB registration as a Licensed Plumber, so you can issue plumbing CoCs
Fit enough to lift a 150-litre geyser with a helper and work in tight roof spaces
Plumbing trade test certificate or an Occupational Certificate: Plumber (NQF 4)
Working knowledge of SANS 10252-1 and SANS 10254
At least 3 years as a qualified plumber, including geyser replacements
