Quality Inspector (Automotive Components)

You'll build parts or whole vehicles on a moving line at the exhaust and catalytic converter plant in Brackenfell. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is an exhaust and catalytic converter plant on the Brackenfell side of Western Cape. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Assemble components at your station within the line cycle time
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Check parts for defects before they go into the vehicle
• Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
• Take part in kaizen ideas to improve your station
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears

• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Able to pass a basic literacy and numeracy test
• Grade 12 certificate
• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift

• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA
• Previous experience in an automotive plant

• Put your maths and English marks on your CV. Plants often use them to screen before the assessment.
• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
