Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory) – Experienced

Here in Cape Town CBD, a snack food factory needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a snack food factory on the Cape Town CBD side of Western Cape. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley

• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Company transport on some night shifts
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
