Quality Sorter (Packaging Factory)

Here in Newcastle, a meat processing plant needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is Newcastle-based, with most of your time spent at a meat processing plant. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages

• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
