Rapid Response Officer (Farm Security)

You'll answer alarms across a business park in Kempton Park in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a business park on the Kempton Park side of Gauteng. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
• Carry out visible patrols through the sector between call-outs
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
• Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook

• At least 2 years in guarding or response
• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Calm under pressure and physically fit

• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
• Advanced driving course

• Group life cover through the provident fund
• Danger and night allowances
• Response vehicle and firearm provided

• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
• Mention the areas you know well. Companies prefer officers who can find addresses fast without a GPS.
