Job Description

When a panic button goes off in a farming district in Mossel Bay, you are the one who arrives first. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

Location: Mossel Bay, Western Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What you'll actually do

Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
Respond to alarm and panic signals sent by the control room
Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over
Secure a scene until SAPS arrives and hand over details
Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
Search the property perimeter and check doors, windows and gates
Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren

What you need

Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Calm under pressure and physically fit
At least 2 years in guarding or response
SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving

Helpful, not essential

Advanced driving course
SAPS, SANDF or reservist background
First-aid Level 2 or 3
