Rapid Response Officer (Farm Security)

You'll answer alarms across a farming district in Richards Bay in a marked vehicle, armed and ready. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is in Richards Bay (KwaZulu-Natal). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Visit clients for key-holder checks and open-up requests
• Write detailed incident reports on the tablet or in the vehicle logbook
• Do vehicle checks: tyres, fuel, lights and siren
• Check the firearm in and out of the safe at shift start and end
• Give first aid at an incident until paramedics take over

• SAPS firearm competency certificate for handguns (and shotgun if required)
• Clean criminal record and no pending cases
• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 licence with at least 2 years driving
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts
• PSIRA Grade B or C with an armed response course
• At least 2 years in guarding or response

• Advanced driving course
• SAPS, SANDF or reservist background

• Danger and night allowances
• Response vehicle and firearm provided
• Regular refresher shooting practice

• Put your firearm competency and armed response course at the top. Without both, the CV is not read further.
• Bring the originals of your certificates to the interview. Armed companies verify them before a shooting test.
