Job Description

Shrinkage hurts every building-supplies store; in Umhlanga, you would be the one tracking it down. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Umhlanga-based, with most of your time spent at a building-supplies store. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

What your day looks like

Help with stock counts and point out loss hot-spots
Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
Share trends with the store manager each week
Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
Check receiving bay deliveries against invoices and seal numbers

What you need

Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
Available for retail hours including month-end weekends
Good report writing
PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
Able to handle confrontation calmly
Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4

Helpful, not essential

Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
Experience giving evidence in court
Retail loss prevention course
