Reception Security Officer (Office Tower)

The gate at a gated residential estate in Stellenbosch is the first line of safety, and you would be standing at it. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll report in Stellenbosch. Relocation is not covered for this one.

• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)

• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Speaks and writes basic English
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Physically fit for foot patrols

• Firefighting or evacuation training
• Previous experience at a similar site type

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
