Job Description

Hit your collection targets at this debt collection agency in Montague Gardens and your commission shows it. It suits someone who likes knowing exactly what a good day's work looks like.

You'll be based at a debt collection agency in Montague Gardens. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What you'll actually do

Negotiate payment arrangements and set up DebiCheck mandates.
Record reasons for non-payment so the credit team can adjust policy.
Hand accounts over for legal action once internal steps are exhausted.
Report daily on rands collected, contacts made and arrangements set.
Update debtor contact details from tracing searches.
Send written arrangements by SMS or email straight after each call.

What you need

Registered, or willing to register, with the Council for Debt Collectors
You keep your tone respectful even when the debtor is not
Matric
Good with numbers, dates and payment calculations
Target-driven and comfortable with commission
Clear credit and criminal record

Helpful, not essential

Experience on a collections system such as Debtmaster or a dialler platform
Knowledge of the NCA and prescription rules
A second South African language
