Job Description

You'll install, service and repair refrigeration and aircon systems across Cape Town CBD. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

This post is Cape Town CBD-based, with most of your time spent at a hospital building services team. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What you'll actually do

Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls
Diagnose faulty compressors, fans, contactors and control boards
Respond to temperature alarms from cold rooms before stock is lost
Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes
Replace thermostatic expansion valves and electronic controllers

You'll need

Code 08 driver's licence, since the job is mostly on the road
Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate
Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
At least 2 years servicing commercial or residential systems
SAQCC Gas registration as an authorised person for refrigerants
