Refrigeration Mechanic (Supermarket Maintenance) – Immediate Start

The hospital building services team in Klerksdorp needs an HVAC technician who knows both the electrical side and the refrigerant side. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The site is in Klerksdorp; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Commission new systems and show the client how to use the controls
• Clean coils, replace filters and check drain lines on scheduled services
• Check chiller log sheets and water treatment on building service visits
• Complete service reports on a tablet and have the site manager sign them
• Service cold rooms, display fridges and freezers on planned maintenance routes
• Recover refrigerant into cylinders and log every kilogram used

• Comfortable on roofs and ladders in summer heat
• At least 2 years servicing commercial or residential systems
• Understanding of single- and three-phase control circuits
• Brazing, flaring and vacuum skills you can demonstrate
• Refrigeration and air-conditioning trade test or an NQF 4 occupational certificate

• Building management system alarm handling
• Experience with VRF systems or chillers

• Gauge manifold, vacuum pump and recovery unit issued to you
• Manufacturer training on new equipment ranges
• Standby pay for weekend fridge breakdowns

• Your SAQCC Gas card must be current. Put the expiry date on your CV so nobody has to ask.
• Mention whether you are comfortable on standby. Most service jobs in this trade include it.
