Registered Nurse (Night Duty)

Bring your SANC registration and your ward experience to a mine health centre in Secunda that needs a steady pair of hands. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Secunda, Mpumalanga. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Take handover at the bedside and plan care for your allocated patients
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders

• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Clean criminal record
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly

• Unit manager or shift leader experience
• Dispensing licence (Section 22A(15)) for clinic posts

• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation
• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay

• Check your SANC receipt is for this year before you apply; an unpaid annual fee gets your application parked.
• List your speciality skills in plain words, such as "ventilated patients" or "normal deliveries", instead of just the ward name.
