Registered Nurse (Night Duty)

This is a registered nursing post at a mine health centre in Welkom, with your own patient load and a say in the care plan. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Welkom-based, with most of your time spent at a mine health centre. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly
• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day
• Do wound care, catheter care and IV line management to unit protocol

• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Clean criminal record
• Current SANC registration as a Professional Nurse, with this year's annual fees paid
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
