Job Description

This food and beverage factory in Bellville needs a mechanical engineer who is as comfortable on the plant floor as in the design office. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Bellville. Relocation is not covered for this one. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

The work, day to day

Mentor candidate engineers and artisans on technical problems
Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
Sign off modifications and keep drawings and records current
Manage shutdowns: planning, spares, contractors and safe restart
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor

You'll need

Confident with 3D CAD software and engineering calculations
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Able to manage contractors and budgets
Code 08 licence for site visits

Nice if you have

Project management certificate
Experience with SAP PM for maintenance
Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
