Job Description

Real machines, real budgets and real downtime targets at the petrochemical plant in Centurion. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

Home base is a petrochemical plant on the Centurion side of Gauteng. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Hold the GMR 2.1 appointment and keep machinery safety legal on site
Analyse breakdowns with root cause methods and fix the cause, not the symptom
Plan and track preventive maintenance in the CMMS with the artisans and planners
Check pressure vessels for compliance with the Pressure Equipment Regulations and SANS 347
Design conveyors, chutes and structures in SolidWorks or Inventor

You'll need

Able to manage contractors and budgets
Code 08 licence for site visits
Three or more years working as a qualified engineer, in industry or consulting
Working knowledge of the OHS Act and General Machinery Regulations
BEng or BSc Eng in Mechanical Engineering, or a BTech or Advanced Diploma for technologist roles

Nice if you have

Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical, Factories)
Reliability or asset management certification
