Renewable Energy Engineer (Solar PV)

From MV switchgear to PLCs, this water treatment utility in Gqeberha needs a sharp electrical engineer. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

You'll report in Gqeberha. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Size cables, transformers and protection using design software
• Design solar PV and battery systems and handle grid connection to NRS 097
• Keep single line diagrams and as-built drawings up to date
• Guide technicians and contractors on site during commissioning
• Plan maintenance for switchgear, transformers and motor control centres

• Strong understanding of SANS 10142 and the Electrical Installation Regulations
• Experience with at least one power system or lighting design package
• Code 08 licence and willingness to travel to sites
• ECSA registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng or Candidate
• At least 3 years of electrical engineering work after graduating

• Renewable energy project experience above 1 MW
• Protection or HV operating authorisation
• PLC programming certification

• Clear path to associate or senior engineer
• Vehicle allowance for site work
