Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse)

Good service at a hotel restaurant in Brakpan starts with you: friendly, quick and on top of every order. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Brakpan, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
• Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Clear, wipe and reset tables fast during the Friday and Sunday rush.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.

• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus

• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
• Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint

• You keep your own tips, paid out daily or weekly
• Staff meal on every shift
• Uniform supplied and laundered
