Restaurant Waitron (Steakhouse)

You'll look after tables at a busy mall coffee shop in Kariega, from the first greeting to the final bill. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: Kariega, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
• Carry plates to the right seat without auctioning food at the table.
• Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
• Greet guests, seat them and hand over menus within a minute of arrival.
• Set tables, polish cutlery and glasses, and check condiments before doors open.
• Pull espresso shots and steam milk for flat whites and cappuccinos.
• Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.

• Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
• Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
• At least 6 months of waitering, bar or coffee shop experience
• Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
• Quick with basic maths and card machines
• You speak clear English and can chat easily with guests

• Responsible Service of Alcohol training
• A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
