Retail Security Officer (Clothing Store) – Experienced

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a building-supplies store in Brackenfell before they cost jobs. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a building-supplies store on the Brackenfell side of Western Cape. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Search staff bags at exit points according to store policy
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
• Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Tag high-value stock and check security tags at the doors
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour

• Able to handle confrontation calmly
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• Discreet, observant and honest
• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least

• Retail loss prevention course
• Experience giving evidence in court

• Retail trading hours, no night shift in most stores
• Monthly recovery incentives
• Plain clothes work (no uniform in detective roles)
