Returns & Exchanges Desk Clerk (Retail) – Entry Level

Customers bring their problems to your counter at a department store service desk in Midrand, and leave with answers. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Midrand, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Take payments, balance your till and bank cash at close.
• Upsell contract upgrades, accessories or cover when it fits the customer.
• Greet customers, find out what they need and manage the queue ticket system.
• Book repairs and warranty claims and give customers a reference number.
• Log complaints and pass them to the store or branch manager.
• Update customer details and file signed forms for audit.

• Retail or customer service experience of at least a year
• Presentable and approachable with all kinds of customers
• Good on a computer and point-of-sale system
• Retail hours, including Saturdays, Sundays and month-end
• Matric (Grade 12) certificate
• Accurate with cash and paperwork

• Monthly sales incentive on upgrades and add-ons
• Product training and certifications paid for
• Staff discount on products

• Apply close to home: stores prefer people who can reach the mall reliably for opening and closing shifts.
