Roller Operator (Layerworks)

Real machine hours on real projects, with the quarry and aggregate supplier working in and around Kempton Park. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Kempton Park-based, with most of your time spent at a quarry and aggregate supplier.

• Park the machine on level ground and lock it when you knock off
• Backfill and compact around pipes in layers
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals
• Dig trenches for pipes and cables to the depth and grade set by the surveyor
• Load tipper trucks without spillage or overloading
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away

• Willing to work on projects outside your home town
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill
• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider

• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work
• Basic plant maintenance or mechanical knowledge

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle

• You will likely do a practical test on the machine. Do the walk-around check out loud. It shows you work safely.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
