Roller Operator (Layerworks)

The road construction contractor in Mogwase needs an operator who looks after the machine as well as the job. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

This post is in Mogwase (North West). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals
• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Load tipper trucks without spillage or overloading
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Record machine hours and fuel on the daily plant sheet

• Good depth perception and no history of machine accidents
• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Valid Code 10 licence for moving machines on public roads

• Certificates on more than one machine type
• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work

• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle
• Refresher training on new machines

• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
• List each machine with its size, for example "20-ton excavator, 4 years". Plant managers match you to the machine they need.
