Job Description

Get off the road and into the control office at a bus and coach operator in Polokwane. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

Home base is a bus and coach operator on the Polokwane side of Limpopo. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

What your day looks like

Keep a register of PrDP and licence expiry dates for all drivers
Check driver hours so nobody drives too long without rest
Book vehicle services, licence renewals and roadworthy tests
Plan daily loads to use full truck capacity
Phone drivers when trucks stop too long or go off-route
Arrange breakdown recovery and replacement vehicles
Compile daily reports on trips completed and late deliveries

You'll need

Knowledge of South African road freight regulations
Good with Excel and email
Matric
Clear on the phone with drivers and customers
Able to work shifts in a 24-hour control office
Calm and decisive when things go wrong

Nice if you have

Experience on a vehicle telematics platform
Logistics or supply chain certificate
