Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

The municipal infrastructure project in Gqeberha needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

Home base is a municipal infrastructure project on the Gqeberha side of Eastern Cape. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent

• SACPCMP registration as a Construction Health and Safety Officer
• You write clear reports in English
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role

• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
