Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

Every person goes home in one piece. That is the job on this road construction project in Komani. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Komani. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Prepare monthly safety statistics for the client's agent
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work

• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• Confident enough to stop unsafe work, even when the programme is tight
• First Aid Level 1 at least
• You write clear reports in English
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites

• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Diploma in Safety Management
• Fall protection planner training

• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Laptop and data for reporting
• Travel and site allowances

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Name the kind of projects you have covered, like roads, housing or wind farms. Clients want sector experience.
