Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

Safety files, inspections and toolbox talks: this renewable energy construction site in Randburg needs someone who can do all three well. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Randburg (Gauteng). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Investigate incidents and near misses and report them on time
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Run site inductions for every new worker and visitor
• Track PPE issues and replace damaged equipment

• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• At least 2 years as a safety officer on construction sites
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification
• You write clear reports in English

• Diploma in Safety Management
• ISO 45001 internal auditor course

• Laptop and data for reporting
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances
• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD

• Bring a sample risk assessment or safety file index you drew up (remove client names). It shows your work better than a list.
• Put your SACPCMP registration number and category first. Many CVs without it are rejected without being read.
