Safety Representative Coordinator (Road Works)

The high-rise residential project in Springs needs a safety officer who is on the site, not stuck in the container office. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The work is in Springs, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Keep appointment letters and competency certificates in the file
• Audit subcontractor safety files before they start work
• Write and review risk assessments and safe work method statements
• Check that fall protection plans are in place for work at height
• Compile and maintain the site health and safety file under the Construction Regulations 2014
• Hold toolbox talks on topics that match the week's work
• Inspect scaffolds, excavations and edge protection daily

• First Aid Level 1 at least
• Good understanding of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations 2014
• You write clear reports in English
• SAMTRAC or an NQF-accredited health and safety qualification

• ISO 45001 internal auditor course
• Fall protection planner training
• Experience on renewable energy or high-rise projects

• Paid SACPCMP renewal and CPD
• Clear growth path to a construction health and safety agent role
• Travel and site allowances
